How to Donate

How Do I Give?

Squamish United Church requires the donations of its members and friends to function. For this reason we offer the opportunity to give to the life of the church during worship services. Offerings go towards the work of the local congregation for its staff, building maintenance and organizational functioning. Giving's also go towards the work of the national church both in Canada and overseas through the Mission and Service Fund; and towards special projects like the ministry of First United Church in the Downtown Eastside or other local outreach in the community of Squamish.

We offer the following ways to become a regular giver or to make a one time donation:

Online Through Canada Helps

Donate to the Squamish United Church via CanadaHelps.orgCanadaHelps is an online donation site that provides access to Canada's 80,000 charities. It is a secure and convenient way to donate and you receive your tax receipt electronically directly from them when you make your donation. Through CanadaHelps you can make a one-time donation or a monthly donation to your credit card. You choose the date on which the charge is made to your account.

PAR

Regular giving is facilitated by PAR (Pre-Authorized Remittance). This involves an automatic debit to your chequing account and allows you to allocate your giving. You will find PAR forms on the table in the foyer. If you have any other questions about giving in this manner please speak to Bert Ionson or the minister.

Envelopes

For those who prefer to make a donation directly onto the offering plate, we provide envelopes (with a giving number to track your gifts for tax receipt purposes.) These giving's can also be designated. Sign up for them through the church office during the week.

How much should I give?

As a congregation we are overwhelmed by the generosity of people. We would like to encourage you to give as you are able and desire. Occasionally we will have stewardship and giving campaigns to let members and adherents know where we stand with our finances to date.
