MINISTER

Rev. Karen Millard

I am really delighted to live in this beautiful community.  I was drawn to participate in ministry with this warm, welcoming congregation as I heard stories of the past and visions for the future.  The mission of Squamish United is “to be an inclusive community serving God’s world.  This mission fits well with who I am as minister, counsellor and child of God.
As a person with a background in youth ministry, social work, and counselling I believe the church is called to share God’s love, grace and justice with the entire world.  I see this same desire within the hearts of many here at Squamish United Church and  I look forward to finding new ways to  egage with  God's mission together.

My ministry passionas are found in creating and participating in dynamic, engaging worship; along with spiritual formation through education, spiritual direction and counselling.  I also have passions for service and outreach both within and outside of the church community.

If you have come to this web site looking for a new church community, or with questions of life and faith I would love to hear from you.  Please feel free to contact me anytime at squc_minister@telus.net or give me a call at the church.  604-892-5727.

Grace and Peace,

Karen

The mission of Squamish United Church is to be an inclusive community serving God’s world.  As the brand new minister here at Squamish United Church I am just discovering what that means to this church community.  Here is what I have come to know so far.  In the last two weeks I have learned that inclusive for this part of the body of Christ means all are welcomed.  SUC is full of joy, grace, compassion and welcome.  I have not seen one person walk through the door that was not greeted wholeheartedly.  Next I have learned community for these people means spending time with one another, caring for one another’s needs, worshiping, playing, singing and eating together.  Finally SUC takes serving God’s world seriously through providing a bag of groceries for those who walk through the door in need, making shawls to offer comfort, and offering support for mission work of various kinds from Downtown Vancouver to Africa.  Squamish United Church desires to live their mission well.  I am both blessed and excited to be a part of the journey of faith with this group of ministers.

If this sounds like a church community you would like to see and get to know and maybe even be a part of  you are welcome to join us on Sunday mornings at 10 am.  We are located at 38014 -4th Ave. Squamish.
We look forward to seeing you here.
