COMMITTEE
The M & P Committee (Cathie
Greenlees, Billy Hildering, Roy Shephard, Christine Tribe) face
discussions with salaried personnel, encouraging them in their
ministry, seeking to resolve any minor problems, reviewing job
descriptions and making annual assessments of performance.
Fortunately, their task has been a light one, as all have continued to
give outstanding and unstinting service throughout the year; the main
task of the committee has been not to goad the unwilling, but rather to
constrain enthusiasm within sustainable bounds.
As in the last two years, a recognition dinner was held for staff in
May; this proved a very happy event.
The present chair of the committee (Roy Shephard) has now served for
three years. He has announced that he will be stepping down as
chair, although willing to continue as a member of the committee for a
further year. Two other long-standing members of the committee,
Billy Hildering and Christine Tribe, have agreed to allow their names
to stand as alternating chairs for the year 2008, subject to the
approval of the AGM.
