• Close to half of the respondents were 45 to 54 years old

• Only 1% of the respondents were under 35 years old.  This is consistent with attendance at the Sunday Worship Services.

• 37% of the respondents were 55 and older

The majority of the respondents (76%) are female, which is similar to the profile of the Sunday Worship Service attendees.

Approximately half of the respondents (53%) live in the Graibaldi Estates and the Garibaldi Highlands area.  Only 20% of the respondents live in the neighbourhoods at the southern end of Squamish, the remainder (27%) coming from Brackendale and the Upper Valley.

Approximately 1/4 of the respondents (23%) have started attending the church in the last 5 years, 16% for 6-10 years, and 11% for 11-15 years.

Almost half of the respondents (47%) have been attending church services for 16 years or more.

2/3 of the respondents who completed the questionnaire (67%) attended church on a regular basis (most Sundays), 16% once or twice/month, and 11% occasionally.

1/4 of the respondents (24%) were interested in receiving Sunday Services by e-mail.  This statistic is likely to increase as more households connect to the internet.  Over the past 5 years, the growth in internet use for people under 65 has been exponential, but a very small percentage of seniors were connected.  However, over the past 2 years there has been a rapid growth in seniors’ use of the internet, particularly among retired professionals (“Globe and Mail”, October 16th, 2001).
